Sempai David began Karate in 1995 with
Sensei Alain Bonnamie under IKO-1, and has been studying Karate at this
same West Island location for the last 11 years. Having many different
teachers to learn from has given David a unique perspective on
different styles of teaching. This has kept his interest for the Art at
a high level throughout the years.
On May 19th 2003 David received
his Shodan (certificate# F1857) under the North American Shihan,
Roman Szyrajew. Over the years, David has competed in a number of
Semi Contact tournaments. He has also completed 2 Tameshiwari
(Breaking tests). One under Sensei Alain Bonnamie and one under Shihan
Roman Szyrajew.
To complement his Karate Training, in 1998
David started running and completed the Honolulu Marathon and
the Nike Montreal ½ Marathon in 2005. Being the longest member
at Seishin Karate, it brings David great pleasure to see the school
flourishing and always being able to adapt to the changing needs of our
students.
